The impact of course or curriculum changes based on assessment study results can be observed in real-time during year 3. There are several tools available for faculty to use to examine the impact of course changes during their courses or after final grades have been submitted. Assessment specialists are available for faculty consultations to demonstrate each of the methods described below.

Canvas Outcomes

Canvas rubrics are a great way to collect useful information on student learning. Rubrics are integrated seamlessly within the SpeedGrader interface for easy use while grading, and include flexible settings to align with any instructor’s grading policies.

Utilizing Canvas Outcomes to build these rubrics further enhances their usefulness by making it possible for instructors to see how students are doing in each specific area or skill via the Learning Mastery Gradebook.

Gradescope Statistics

Gradescope is a tool designed to streamline and standardize grading for paper-based, digital, and code assignments. Students can upload hand-written assignments to be graded by an instructor or teaching assistant in an easy online interface that allows for on-the-fly rubric creation and feedback.

Gradescope’s Statistics page allows instructors to view a breakdown of average student scores on each assignment, as well as details about student errors (if the rubric is written in detail).

IRAPS Dashboards

IRAPS Dashboards can be used to view course grades and equity gaps.
